Working together...

Regardless of the issues that you want to address, therapy is not a passive process.
I can not wave a magic wand and all your challenges and difficulties will all go away no matter how much we might both prefer that.
So what does this process look/feel like?
First off, it is a very active, collaborative and intense process. It begins with identifying the problems or difficulties you want to address and then determining how best to go about achieving them.
As an experiential dynamically oriented therapist, we will focus a great deal on your here and now somatic experiencing. This allows us to identify not only anxiety and its regulation, but also to help you identify defenses (patterns of behavior) that often restrict, impair and/or deplete your life. Once these patterns are identified and you are able to see their destructive impact on your life, I will encourage you to engage in a better and healthier way.
As I mentioned earlier, I will then encourage you to feel your feelings as fully as possible so that you have the resources they provide so that you can have clarity about what you want and the resources to fuel your efforts!
